This is a spoiler free review except for how many Credit Scenes there are. There’s one mid credit Scene and one post credit scene. Now if that’s all you came for then be off with you, you scallywags. Now for the rest of you looking for an actual review before you go watch it… I don’t really pay attention reviews. I go judge for myself, but if you all did that, it would put me out of this non paying reviewing job so instead crave my reviews and get others too as well.. so onward with the movie review.
It’s good. To point of fact it was actually pretty good. I know that’s unexpected since the suit looks like it was stuffed and it’s not one of the animated DC movies that usually is without doubt good. If of course you ignore that batman ninja time traveling thing, that movie that came out a while ago. But other than that, they have a pretty good record with animated movies, and it seems they are doing good again with these solo films.
It was funny. It had heartwarming moments. It was silly but kept it serious when it needed to be, for the most part. The Wonder Woman film still kicks this movies hypothetical butt, but I would go as far as to say that it did so too many other Comic films as well. Shazam has a few Easter Eggs if you know it’s history, if not, then ask your much nerdier friend that is a know it all. They will be more than happy to tell you what you missed and how many times they have seen the film.
It’s a good film for kids and adults alike. If I would give Wonder Woman a 9, then I would give this film a 7. Which on my scale, is still pretty good. For context, that first Hulk firm never made it past 5, maybe not even 4. But none of the Fantastic 4 movies made it past 3. And if you disagree with that then just remember the comics literary say he wasn’t a bunch of clouds, and that is exactly what they made him into.
Back to Shazam. Of all the Comic book movies, this maybe one of the most kid friendly or rather kid focused Comic book movie to date. But again, adults will also enjoy it. And I should know, I play an adult at work almost every day. : )
